Veïns de Banyuls retiren les pedres que tancaven la carretera del Coll de Banyuls

Un grup de persones de municipis de l’Empordà i de la Catalunya del Nord han retirat diverses pedres de grans dimensions que impedien la circulació de vehicles entre la Marenda i l’Alt Empordà i han reobert el pas fronterer del Coll de Banyuls. L’acció reivindicativa per denunciar la situació que fa mesos que pateixen s’ha fet aquest diumenge en resposta a una convocatòria engegada des de Perpinyà. Proveïts amb cordes i la “força física”, desenes de persones han aconseguit moure els rocs i “deixar lliure la carretera”. “Mantenir tancades les carreteres va contra l’activitat diària de la població de la zona: contradiu l’esperit de lliure circulació europeu i el dret al refugi”, asseguren en un comunicat.
França va ordenar el tancament dels passos fronterers el mes de gener per l’alerta antiterrorista. En concret, del Coll de Banyuls, del Coll de Costoja, Coll de la Manrella, Camí d’Aja i la Carretera de la Vinyola. La situació va aixecar una forta polèmica entre els municipis afectats i es van organitzar diversos actes de protesta.
El mes de maig el govern francès va decidir reobrir el que uneix Maçanet de Cabrenys i Costoja. Davant del mateniment de la situació a la resta de punts i l’allargarament del bloqueig anunciat, un grup de persones de “Nord i Sud” han decidit “reobrir” el pas retirant algunes de les pedres de grans dimensions que l’obstaculitzaven.
