Per què la pagesia diu prou

Unió de Pagesos manté una mobilització continuada de la pagesia. El país no es pot permetre que el sector que omple el rebost de les llars es vagi empetitint. Catalunya ha perdut un 40% de la pagesia professional en els darrers 20 anys, i cada vegada menys joves s’incorporen a aquesta professió. La principal causa d’això són la caiguda dels preus en origen, molts dels quals a preus de fa justament 20 anys, gràcies a permetre abusos i pràctiques deslleials a la gran distribució. Darrerament, els ramaders de la llet i els pagesos de la vinya clamen davant la injustícia d’uns preus sota costos de producció. La indústria es carrega una ramaderia que no pot proveir ni el 40 % de la demanda catalana i aboquen la ciutadania a no poder triar un producte de proximitat i qualitat. Els grans cellers del cava han abocat els productors a les portes de la crisi més greu i converteixen el sector del vi en un gegant amb peus de fang.

Mentrestant, l’increment dels costos de producció posen contra les cordes tots els sectors, el darrer any el gasoil ha pujat un 215 %, l’electricitat, un 77%, i més d’un 30%, els fertilitzants. La Política Agrària Comuna perjudica clarament els professionals perquè l’Estat continua beneficiant els senyorets asseguts al sofà. Justament aquest model que beneficia els poderosos i les grans corporacions, és el que s’ha volgut traslladar a Catalunya amb la implantació de les renovables, una forma d’especulació de la terra gràcies a la declaració d’utilitat pública.

 

L’Administració ha de considerar les amenaces al sector agrari. No és menor que es fustigui la ramaderia a costa de mantres que la presenten com el pitjor impacte ambiental. Aquí, el que no poden fer els governs és doblegar-se davant les empreses que utilitzen aquesta moda contra la carn per justificar noves operacions comercials amb proteïnes alternatives. Com sempre, només busquen marge comercial a costa dels aliments bàsics, però, a sobre, contribueixen a inflar un estat d’opinió advers a les granges. Tenim un model agrari que cal cuidar, d’agricultura familiar distribuïda al territori, una garantia per a la gestió ambiental i la sostenibilitat.

 

Nosaltres defensem tot això, però volem dir que no ens sentim representants com a pagesos i pageses per la manifestació d’aquest diumenge a Madrid. Les organitzacions convocants han donat suport, al costat dels representants de la distribució i de les grans marques, a una Llei de la cadena alimentària sense quota de posició de domini, cosa que dona llibertat a la pressió sobre els productors, sigui amb preus baixos sigui amb pràctiques deslleials. Aquestes organitzacions defensen que tothom pugui continuar cobrant la PAC, però això no pot ser. Perquè la pagesia professional pugui mantenir el nivell d’ajut necessari, cal excloure dels ajuts directes els grups empresarials que no depenen dels ingressos agraris.

 

Aquesta manifestació es fa, a més, amb el suport de reials federacions, determinats partits polítics i entitats que el seu principal objectiu és viure a les costelles de la pagesia i el món rural sense cap mirament. Qui vulgui fer política en benefici de la pagesia professional té damunt la taula les propostes concretes d’Unió de Pagesos. Tots els partits podrien variar la orientació de la legislació que s’ha fet fins ara amb iniciatives legislatives i no ho fan. Nosaltres no ens deixarem manipular amb finalitats reaccionàries.
