La vuitena edició del Festival MOT es centrarà en el món rural amb el lema “Al camp”

La vuitena edició del festival MOT s’endinsarà en el món rural des de la literatura sota el lema ‘Al camp’. El certamen, comissariat conjuntament per l’editora i traductora Maria Bohigas Sales i la filòloga Roser Vernet Anguera, se celebrarà del 17 al 26 de març a Olot i Girona i busca emfatitzar de quina manera i des d’on es fa literatura sobre el món rural. Durant dues setmanes consecutives s’oferiran diverses converses i activitats literàries en què participaran una quarantena d’autors convidats, en un festiva que contraposarà “diversitats i cercarà ponts”.

El MOT 2022 ha convidat autors internacionals i nacionals que donen veu a diferents ruralitats en la seva literatura. Els primers noms confirmats en l’àmbit internacional són Selva Almada i Fernanda Melchor i en el nacional hi destaquen Xuan Bello, Anna Ballbona, Raül Garrigasait, Mercè Ibarz, Toni Sala i María Sánchez.

 

El festival tindrà lloc del 17 al 19 de març a la sala El Torín d’Olot i del 24 al 26 de març a la Biblioteca Carles Rahola de Girona. Com ja és habitual, les converses entre autors i especialistes constituiran el nucli de la programació del MOT, que s’estendrà de dijous a dissabte en dues setmanes consecutives. A més, els dissabtes al matí tindrà lloc el Ver-MOT, una trobada més distesa entre tres o quatre autors al voltant d’un vermut. A Olot es farà a la plaça de Braus i a Girona, al barri de Santa Eugènia.

 

Més enllà de les dues setmanes del MOT, el festival es complementa mitjançant projectes com Les Veus del MOT, el Pròleg del MOT o els clubs de lectura de les biblioteques públiques. També s’adreça al públic més jove amb el MOT INS, unes experiències literàries per a alumnes de secundària i batxillerat. Finalment, completaran el certamen les activitats que s’apleguen sota el paraigua del +MOT, organitzades per entitats i associacions en relació amb el tema escollit d’enguany a cada una de les dues ciutats.

 

El MOT arriba a la seva vuitena edició amb un públic consolidat i continua tenint com a objectiu principal fomentar la lectura i la divulgació literària tot apropant escriptors de primer nivell des de la proximitat. Els festival va néixer el 2014 i, comissariat per David Roas, es va dedicar a la literatura fantàstica.

 

Amb l’aturada del 2020 per la pandèmia, el 2021 es va reprendre amb Glòria Bosch com a comissària i abordant el procés de creació artística sota el lema ‘Crear. Un collage que creix amb les paraules’.

 

El MOT està organitzat per l’Ajuntament de Girona i el d’Olot, i té el suport de la Diputació de Girona i del Departament de Cultura de la Generalitat de Catalunya, a banda de vincles amb altres institucions públiques i privades relacionades amb la cultura.
