El Berguedà ha estat seleccionat com a una de les 100 millors destinacions turístiques del món per l’organització Green Destinations. Per segon any consecutiu, la comarca optarà a un dels reconeixements. El 2019 ja va ser finalista dins la categoria de Cultura i Comunitats. Segons Lluís Vall, president de l’Agencia de Desenvolupament del Berguedà, la tria mostra l’aposta que es fa des del sector turístic “per diferenciar-nos de la resta d’indrets” a través del turisme sostenible i de serveis adaptats al medi ambient, buscant clients conscienciats amb l’entorn. Els guardons s’entregaran al març a Berlín, dins la fira de turisme internacional ITB.
Green Destinations és una organització sense ànim de lucre que treballa pel turisme sostenible. A banda del Berguedà, entre les destinacions turístiques seleccionades hi ha l’Estartit-Torroella de Montgrí i les Terres de l’Ebre.
