L’activista lleidatana Nogay Ndiaye ha denunciat aquest dissabte “el racisme pur i dur” de tots els hotelers i llogaters de Lleida que, segons ha explicat, es neguen a donar allotjament als 200 temporers que actualment es calcula que dormen al carrer a la capital del Segrià. Això, malgrat que el futbolista de l’AS Mònaco Keita Baldé s’ha ofert a pagar l’estada a tots aquests treballadors mentre duri la campanya de la fruita d’enguany. “Fins i tot oferint els diners per endavant i assegurant la temporada d’aquests allotjaments, que a més enguany ingressaran zero o pràcticament zero, diuen que no, i no hi ha una altra resposta a això que el racisme pur i dur”, considera Nogay Ndiaye.
En un missatge publicat aquest divendres a les xarxes socials, el futbolista d’Arbúcies i d’origen senegalès ha explicat que està treballant “dur” amb Nogay Ndiaye per buscar “la millor solució”. Tot i això Balde, ha denunciat que “estem en un sistema desagradable i lleig on per llogar un habitatge o qualsevol cosa et creen problemes pel color de pell o per ser d’un altre país” i demana als temporers “una mica de paciència i força” .
En la mateixa línia s’ha expressat l’activista lleidatana Nogay Ndiaye, que durant aquesta setmana s’ha encarregat de fer les gestions i contactar amb els hotelers i llogaters de la ciutat. Denuncia que, de moment, tretze hotels i pensions de la ciutat han posat “excuses” per no voler allotjar els temporers per, segons ella, motius racistes. “Els hi oferim pagar-los per avançat i els hi assegurem tenir tot l’establiment ple, totes les habitacions durant quatre mesos en un estiu, que a més serà complicat per ells, i la resposta és no”, ha explicat.
Nogay Ndiaye ha relatat que totes les “excuses” que els hi han posat els establiments van pel mateix camí, no saben si els hi surt a compte fer les gestions per allotjar tantes persones i diuen que s’hauria de mirar als pobles i a hotels a les afores. “No diran directament que no volen allotjar 50 negres al seu hotel”, encara que assegura que el motiu d’aquesta negativa és el racisme, ja que “com no els hi ha de sortir a compte si els hi lloguem tot l’hotel durant quatre mesos?”, s’ha preguntat.
De fet, l’activista lleidatana ha afegit que “coneixent el racisme d’aquesta societat”, s’havia centrat en buscar quatre allotjaments en diferents zones de la ciutat per ubicar aquests 200 temporers en grups de 50 persones. De moment, ha explicat que tenen un allotjament mig tancat i que esperen firmar el contracte aquest proper dilluns. Es tracta d’un petit edifici de lloguer que s’adaptarà per acollir una cinquantena de treballadors, segons ha indicat.
Així mateix, també ha denunciat el racisme que cada any pateixen els temporers que arriben a Lleida i que voldrien llogar un habitatge durant la campanya, però que no troben perquè els propietaris no els hi volen llogar. “La gran majoria volen pagar-se el seu lloguer, independentment del conveni, però no tenen aquesta oportunitat perquè ningú els vol hi llogar, ja que els hi posen excuses de por a la propietat però no el racisme. Doncs s’acaba de demostrar que no és cert”, ha explicat.
Finalment, també ha denunciat la situació “totalment indigna” que viuen els temporers que acudeixen als pavellons que habilita la Paeria. “No es pot dormir en una hamaca durant tres mesos i més quan treballes jornades de dotze hores al camp”, ha assenyalat.
