La Guàrdia Civil ha denunciat el patró d’una embarcació recreativa a Salou (Tarragonès) per capturar diversos exemplars de tonyina roja sense autorització. Els agents van tenir accés a l’activitat il·legal gràcies al fet que els integrants de la tripulació van publicar a les xarxes socials que havien capturat les tonyines. Altres usuaris van compartir les imatges, denunciant els fets i això en van permetre localitzar l’infractor. La pesca d’aquesta espècie està prohibida en el període de veda tal com estableix la resolució del 23 de juny de 2020 de la Direcció General d’Ordenació Pesquera i Aqüicultura.
