El Departament d’Agricultura, Ramaderia, Pesca i Alimentació (DARP), a través d’Infraestructrues.cat, ha publicat la licitació del contracte de serveis per a la redacció del projecte constructiu del regadiu Xerta-Sénia. Concretament, per a l’adequació de les obres singulars dels trams 2 i 3 del canal i xarxa de reg de les zones 2 i 3. L’import de licitació del projecte és de 253.483 euros i el termini de presentació de les ofertes s’acabarà el 20 de maig. Segons el Departament, amb aquesta licitació es donarà resposta a les demandes dels agricultors, de les Cooperatives i de la Comunitat de Regants, que durant aquest últim any han estat treballant en la recollida de signatures d’adhesions al projecte de regadiu.

En aquest procés de recollida de signatures s’han pogut identificar dues zones que s’han denominat Zona 2 i 3, on l’adhesió té suficient entitat per poder redactar els projectes necessaris per poder executar les obres de reg en aquest àmbit. Aquest nou plantejament del projecte, que preveu realitzar obres només en les zones on hi ha l’adhesió suficient perquè sigui viable la posada en regadiu, ha fet que s’hagi hagut de replantejar el disseny inicial del projecte de regadiu, adaptant-lo a les demandes del regants.

Les zones on es desenvoluparà el projecte constructiu tenen una superfície agrícola de 3.264,79 hectàrees i abasten parcel·les dels municipis de Santa Bàrbara, la Galera, Mas de Barberans i Roquetes.
