Acció climatica abonarà 7 MEUR dels ajuts de conservació de races autoctònes i gestió sostenible de zones humides

D'aquests diners, 1,6 milions són de l'ajut per conservar races autòctones i els 5,4 milions euros restants de la gestió sostenible de zones humides.

El Departament d’Acció Climàtica, Alimentació i Agenda Rural farà efectiu avui divendres el pagament d’uns 7 milions d’euros corresponents a la campanya 2022 dels ajuts de conservació de races autòctones i de gestió sostenible de zones humides. En concret, pagarà 1,6 milions de l’ajut per conservar races autòctones, que beneficarà a 449 productors de 26 comarques. Pel que fa la gestió sostenible de zones humides, abonarà 5,4 milions euros a 1.286 beneficiaris de 6 comarques, i suposarà un impacte sobre 20.421 hectàrees de conreu. Aquests ajuts agroambientals, amb compromisos a 5 anys vista, s’emmarquen en el Programa de Desenvolupament Rural de Catalunya PDR.cat2020, amb cofinançament del Fons Europeu Agrícola de Desenvolupament Rural (Feader).

L’objectiu de l’ajut per a la conservació de races autòctones és el manteniment de la variabilitat genètica de les poblacions ramaderes catalanes i preservar de la desaparició aquelles races que formen part del patrimoni genètic i cultural del territori i, a més, constitueixen la base de les explotacions tradicionals, respectuoses envers l’entorn, i font de productes ramaders de qualitat, però que, en l’actualitat, no tenen prou rendibilitat econòmica.

De la seva banda, l’ajut per a la gestió sostenible de zones humides pretén establir un sistema de gestió de les zones humides amb un elevat grau de sostenibilitat preservant les mesures de protecció adequades dels hàbitats considerats d’interès comunitari, i donant resposta a la demanda creixent de millora ambiental en ecosistemes de closes i arrossars de les superfícies incloses en aquestes zones.
