Els World Cheese Awards premien Betara amb el premi Super Gold i cinc guardons més

La formatgeria Betara ha tornat a triomfar als World Cheese Awards on s’ha endut un total de sis premis i ja en suma un total de 52 si hi sumem els 46 d’edicions anteriors. En aquesta ocasió, el formatge ecològic de vaca de la formatgeria que lidera Ramon Berengueras s’ha emportat un dels guardons més preuats en el món dels formatges: el Super Gold. És la tercera vegada que obté un dels premis de la màxima categoria.

En l’edició d’enguany, celebrada recentment a Newport, a Gal·les, els World Cheese Awards ha assolit el rècord de 4.434 inscripcions d’arreu del món que optaven a convertir-se en un dels millors formatges a nivell internacional. Els membres del jurat, format per elaboradors, formatgeries, xefs i periodistes, han estat els encarregats de valorar els diversos formatges tenint en compte aspectes com la crosta, l’aroma, el cos, la textura, el sabor i la sensació en boca.

Betara ha valorat els premis rebuts en l’edició d’enguany com una recompensa per a tot l’equip que els últims anys ha aconseguit crear nous formatges i fer créixer i internacionalitzar l’empresa. Conscients de la manca de llet d’ovella ecològica, l’empresa va començar elaborant formatges de vaca i cabra ‘bio’ i va apostar al 2016 per la creació d’una explotació ramadera d’ovelles ecològiques pionera a Catalunya i que ha convertit en un espai educatiu on es mostra el treball ramader i ecològic.

Els World Cheese Awards són considerats el campionat mundial dels elaboradors de formatge. És un esdeveniment internacional que reuneix elaboradors, formatgeries, restauradors i periodistes especialitzats de tot el món per valorar els formatges participants provinents de més de 40 països.

Betara és una formatgeria familiar que elabora formatges artesans amb llet convencional i ecològica des de fa més de 30 anys al cor del Lluçanès. S’ha convertit en un referent en el sector gràcies als seus formatges d’ovella, cabra i vaca, i per una clara aposta per l’ecologia, el medi ambient i la sostenibilitat.
