Recuperen el camí ramader entre Santa Coloma de Queralt i Cunit per convertir-lo en ruta turística

Les ovelles del pastor Salvador López traspassant el municipi de l'Arboç, durant la ruta feta per recuperar el camí ramader de Santa Coloma de Queralt a Cunit.

El pastor Salvador López ha recorregut 60 quilòmetres per recuperar l’antic camí ramader de Santa Coloma de Queralt (Conca de Barberà) a Cunit (Baix Penedès). Des de dissabte i fins a aquest dimarts, l’expedició ha fet la carrerada per rememorar l’essència de la ruta centenària, amb un ramat de 144 ovelles. “M’he sentit molt bé, he recuperat un camí per on no em deixaven passar”, ha expressat el pastor. A l’Arboç, prop de 200 persones esperaven el grup per acompanyar-lo en el tram final de l’itinerari. La iniciativa impulsada pels ajuntaments de la comarca del Baix Penedès pretén transformar i convertir aquest antic camí en una ruta turística.

En Salvador López va començar a fer de pastor quan era ben petit i s’hi ha dedicat tota la vida. Tot i que els anys ja li pensen, no ha dubtat a sumar-se a la iniciativa per recuperar l’antic camí ramader entre Santa Coloma de Queralt i Cunit. Així, el pastor ha rememorat els dotze anys de pastura per aquestes contrades. “Pujava al juny i m’hi estava fins al setembre, passava l’hivern aquí i tornava amunt. Anàvem a peu i dormíem al carrer, ara, ho fem al llit com senyors”, ha afirmat. El grup va començar la ruta dissabte i han caminat una mitjana de vint quilòmetres durant els quatre dies de travessa. “Estic una mica cansat, les cames ja fan mal, però ha anat bé”, ha assegurat el pastor.

El pastor Salvador López, acompanyat d’altres membres de l’expedició, recorren un tram, proper a l’Arboç, del camí ramader de Santa Coloma de Queralt a Cunit.

També ha celebrat que s’hagi recuperat aquest camí històric de transhumància, però a la vegada, ha lamentat que cada vegada hi hagi menys pastors. “No et guanyes bé la vida, aquest és el mal”, ha opinat. Així mateix, l’estudiós de camins ramaders, Joan Rovira, també ha reivindicat el dret de pas dels pastors, així com la necessitat de potenciar “aquesta gran ruta perduda en el temps” entre els excursionistes. “Aquest camí el feien servir els transhumants que venien del Pirineu i era un camí importantíssim per anar a la fira de Santa Coloma”, ha destacat. Alhora, ha manifestat que promoure turísticament aquest itinerari permetria promocionar els productes ramaders i agrícoles de la zona i revitalitzar l’hostaleria.

 

Per la seva banda, l’alcalde de l’Arboç, Joan Sans, s’ha mostrat il·lusionat de reviure el pas de les ovelles pel centre del municipi, ja que ha recordat, que quan era un nen hi havia dos ramats a la població. A més, ha remarcat la bona acollida que ha tingut la Carrerada de Santa Coloma, amb la participació de gairebé 200 persones. Totes elles han acompanyat l’expedició en els últims catorze quilòmetres de la ruta, que ha culminat a Cunit on han confluït tots els ciclistes i excursionistes.

Malgrat que el pas dels ramats per les poblacions puguin generar molèsties per la brutícia, Sans ha defensat que les administracions han d’ajudar als pastors perquè puguin “circular” pels municipis. “És important conèixer els nostres antecedents, com es vivia amb els ramats, venint des de la muntanya fins a peu de platja”, ha dit. Per tot plegat, el batlle no descarta que l’activitat es torni a fer l’any que ve en un format similar o amb una ruta reduïda, tant de dies com de trams. “Hi ha il·lusió per repetir l’any vinent, les institucions estarem al costat dels organitzadors”, ha tancat l’alcalde.
