L’INCAVI i les Denominacions d’Origen vinícoles han celebrat que el Parlament Europeu hagi retirat la proposta d’introduir advertiments sanitaris a les ampolles de vi. Els representants de la DO i de la Generalitat es van reunir aquest dijous passat, dins el calendari de trobades periòdiques, i han aplaudit que l’Eurocambra s’hagi decantat per proposar que les etiquetes recomanin un consum moderat i responsable. La directora general de l’INCAVI, Alba Balcells, ha defensat que “el vi forma part d’un estil de vida propi dins una dieta valorada, com és la Dieta Mediterrània, declarada Patrimoni Immaterial de la Humanitat”. Al mateix temps, ha recordat que la vitivinicultura “permet l’arrelament i la vida a bona part de les comarques catalanes”.
L’INCAVI i el Departament d’Alimentació, Acció Climàtica i Agenda Rural van traslladar al Parlament Europeu el seu malestar vers la proposta inicial de l’etiquetatge defensant que “no es pot associar de forma directa el consum de vi amb elements propis precursors de malalties” sense posar-ho en relació amb un context de consum moderat.
